If you are looking for used cars for sale then there are many resources on the web that will make the task both easy and a pleasure. We do not advise that you just start searching for cars at random dealers or in classified adds though; it is far better to use specialist used car websites that streamline the task, present you will all the relevant information, and provide a number of additional services such as car data checks and insurance information.

In order to find the best of these sites we have searched on many of them for a specific used car that we are genuinely interested in buying. This is a BMW Z4 costing between £9,000 and £13,000 and located within a reasonable distance of Reading, Berkshire. The following are the top three websites we found.

On Auto Trader our search for a Z4 within 40 miles of Reading within our price range yielded 69 cars. Once we had carried out an initial search we were then able to refine our search in terms of age of car, mileage, engine type, and body type (roadster or coupe) and private or trade. We selected convertible, up to 4 years old, 2 to 2.5 litre engine and up to 40,000 miles. There were 2 for sale privately and 14 at dealers. We selected dealers. The best car we found was a BMW approved car just 4 miles away that had done 34,000 miles and is metallic black; a lovely car.

On Motors UK We were able to enter considerably more options in the initial search box which is very useful if you are looking for something as specific as we are. This can save a lot of time if you have specific requirements. Setting our options we found that the search turned up 30 cars which included the car that we had selected from Auto Trader so we were very pleased to have located our ideal BMW on both of these sites. Alongside our search results we also saw the three latest cars to go on sale, which is a very useful feature.

We had some difficulty finding another site as good as the first two. Exchange and Mart found only 10 cars matching our criteria, and Fish4Cars found only 6; neither of them found our now targeted car; however Parkers, although not as good as either Motors UK or Auto Trader, located 13 cars including our targeted one, so Parkers is our third choice.

The small car market is more competitive than it’s ever been. Ford’s Fiesta has raised its game and is widely accepted as a great new car. The Polo is a typical Volkswagen – nicely crafted cabin and exacting engineering standards. The Hyundai is an excellent value small car competing largely on price. The Vauxhall Corsa falls somewhere between all of these descriptions. It’s a good all rounder and one of Vauxhalls best selling brands falling just below the Astra.

The Corsa is around £15,500 for the 1.4 petrol engine making it a shade more expensive than the Fiesta but it does come with a striking 100,000 mile warranty. The warranty can be overplayed as it only covers against mechanical failure, not wear and tear but nevertheless this is a resounding statement of Vauxhall’s confidence in their product. The warranty offsets the slightly more expensive price tag making it an all round decent value.

It delivers an impressive 98bhp and there is an option of a version with longer gear ratios. If you use a small car for motorway travel your car can be revving at between 3,500 and 4,000 revs when it reaches higher speeds in fifth gear. With a longer fifth gear the mpg rises slightly to 51.4mpg.

The Corsa’s cabin is where it gains high acclaim. It has a solid feel, more so than many of its competitors. Some of the cheaper brands make the driver feel like they are sitting in a small budget car. The Corsa gives the impression of something more sumptuous and pricey. It is also one of the roomier cabins on the small car market. These details weigh heavier on the practical users mind than the seasoned car critics – occasionally critics can dwell too much on performance when the consumer is more concerned with cabin quality and space.

The Corsa is a quality small car that feels like something a bit pricier than its competitors.

When it comes to one of the top motorbike brands of all times, Harley Davidson is certainly at the top of the list! The motorbike connoisseurs have been creating a series of high-end models for quite some time now!

One of the most desirable models of today can only be described as the daddy of all motorbikes and comes in the form of the Dyna Wide Glide. Priced at £9,000 this particular model is able to reach speeds of 100mph.

Harley Davidson are renowned for their varying trends and styles, and every motorbike fanatic is sure to desire at least one of the models available!

The 2010 Wide Glide offers a Dyna Big Twin cycle complete with an old-school chopper style. This is certainly a great motorcycle to ride and despite the name, it certainly isn’t wide in size but instead offers a low-slung body shape.

Up next has to be the CVO Street Glide, which again is a 2010 model and offers speeds in the region of 110mph! The price however is a little on the large side but completely worth it at £18,866!

The CVO Street Glide is one of Harley Davidson’s limited edition street productions. The enviable model is powered by an 110ci V-Twin engine, which is in fact the largest offered by the brand. It is loaded with sparkling chrome assets, awe-inspiring paint and a contemporary custom styling.

Next up is the XR 12000, which is a 2009 model and comes in at around £6799. This must-have model reaches speeds of 100mph. It is also the perfect model for those that love to be the centre of attention and has in fact been created in order to boost the adrenalin levels of those who take it to the road! This exact model comes fitted with the 1200 cc Evolution V Twin Engine. This model is said to have taken its inspiration from the original Harley Davidson XR-750 motorcycle models of previous dates.

There is always a certain amount of controversy surrounding any chart, as everyone has their own opinion and new models are released frequently. This is more obvious when listing the fastest motorbikes, as most have a limited top speed due to safety regulations. At the bottom of our list is the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 with an impressive 190mph. Released at the Tokyo 2005 show, this is the most powerful bike produced by Kawasaki. Recognised by the Guinness book of records as both the fastest and most expensive bike to produce, it really is in a class of its own. Only its new counterpart the MTT Street Fighter can beat it reaching over 250mph and the top of the our speed list. Released in 2008 this monster has a more powerful engine (420hp) than the older Turbine Superbike. However, there is another contender for the top spot. The Dodge Tomahawk is a concept bike developed in the US. Costing around $555,000 it is rumoured that only nine bikes have been sold. With its futuristic double wheel at the front and rear, it is claimed that the Tomahawk can travel at 300mph; which would place it as the fastest motorbike in the world.

The Kawasaki Ninja 250R first made an appearance in 1983 as an entry level sports bike, though in reality is it more or less a hybrid between a sports and a standard bike, being neither one nor the other.

Since its introduction the bike has gone through several evolutions along with some radical design changes. The most up to date model has a far more sporty appearance and the sports fairing provides good aerodynamics along with good weather protection. The seat slants forwards and is quite wide. The handlebars are quite big giving an overall comfortable riding position. Ergonomically it ticks the right boxes.

The bike is powered by a 249cc four stroke eight valve dual overhead cam parallel twin engine with fuel injection which is nicely responsive and the two into one exhaust system is nicely tuned for mid-range torque. It can cover a quarter of a mile sprint in 14.6 seconds achieving a speed of 88mph. The 0 to 60 mph acceleration time is 5.75 seconds, so the bike is no sluggard. The rev counter does not redline until you reach14,000 rpm so riding can be a lot of fun; it sounds good too.

The 17 inch wheels with wide rims and low profile tyres perform well at both low and high speed. The bikes are track designed petal discs which are safe for the novice yet have the performance demanded by the experienced rider. Although this is a small bike, it has the looks of a lot larger bike which are enhanced by the six spoke wheel and front forks.

This bike has been described as the ultimate starter motorcycle. No doubt it is, but it is also far more than that. It is a great performing machine that can be enjoyed by the experienced rider too. Suzuki produces a number of cruiser bikes that carry the name Intruder. The top of the range model is the Intruder M1800RZ.

The M1800R is a big cruiser and it is the most powerful of the Suzuki range of production cruiser. It also has the largest rear-tyre size of production motorcycle. Suzuki market this bike as is the ultimate production cruiser, and it seems that they are more than justified in doing so.

Looking at some of the technical specifications, it is 2.48 metres long with a wheel base of 1.71 metres and weighs 347 kg. The engine is a 1.783 litre four stroke, liquid-cooled, duel overhead cam v-twin with 54 valves. There is a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.

With a similar price tag there is the Intruder C1800R. This uses the same engine as the M1800RZ; however the major emphasis is on comfort. It is also slightly longer than the M1800RZ. Whilst the M1800R offers the best in performance, the C1800R offers the best in ride comfort and style.

For a little less money there is the Intruder M1500. This has a 1,462cc V-Twin engine. Notable is the especially low seat which is also quite wide. A pillion seat is available as an option. The bike is 2.41 metres long with a wheelbase of 1.69 metres.

Also in the Intruder range is the 805 cc V-twin engine Intruder M800. This is a very stylish looking machine and is also quite a performer. With lots of chrome, a low sling comfortable seat and the inimitable v-twin engine, this is a great looking and high performing bike.

For a similar price tag there is the Intruder C800 which carries off well its elegant retro styling, and spoked wheels. If you enjoy laid back cruising then the C800 is worth considering.

The entry range Intruder is the Marauder 125 which is a great back to get started on. The engine is a four stroke, air-cooled, single overhead cam. It might be the small sibling of the rest of the intruder range, but in terms of value for money it is very difficult to better.
